Texture of His Words

She curls up with his book
Opens her well-worn copy

His writing dances on each page
In the rhythm of her breaths

Her fingers slowly conduct along
Play with the texture of his words

She feels him ripple through her
She pauses – smiles – breathless

Listens as his voice whispers within
Forming the shape of her thoughts

She sighs – they are her thoughts
She wonders – how does he know

Waiting

Waiting…

A certain moment in play
He feels the rhythm of her heart
Lake waves slowly kiss the bank
Leaves dance and laugh in the breeze

Waiting…

A certain moment in play
Red cardinals play tag along the bushes
Squirrels scurry down the trees
His fingers idly drum on the park bench

Waiting…

A certain moment in play
Her spot empty next to him
Yet, he knows she must be near
Finally, he hears a familiar rustling

Waiting…

A certain moment in play
Her delicate fingers trace over his
Her delicious smile upon his lips
“Waiting for me?’ she teases

“Always”, he smiles pulling her close

Her Private Symphony

She wanders through the woods
Breathes in the familiar smells

Watches the sunlight filter through
Streams of light dance on the ground

She knows … her invitation to play
Instinctively, her fingers extend

As her hands conduct the breeze
Her private symphony – with him

She smiles – feels his touch
Wonders if he knows – how close

He closes his eyes – feels her
He smiles at the thought

A Breath Away

A breath away
His touch hangs in the air

So close … yet so far
She stands impossibly still

Anticipating
Waiting

Unspoken Thoughts

His writing dances on the page
In the rhythm of her heart

Her eyes pull in the words
As they play in her mind

She momentarily stops
Wonders if he knows

These words – yes, these words
Her unspoken thoughts

Breathlessly, she smiles
Feels him flow within

Her fingers carefully trace over the letters
The texture of his writing tingles

Yes, these are her unspoken thoughts
And he … heard … gave them life

Impossible Beauty

with a single glance
her impossible beauty
takes his breath away

Thoughts of Him

finger to her lips
she stares out of her window
lost in thoughts of him

Personal Blanket

She wanders absently in the house
Cold silence echoes off the walls

Her fingers grasp the material firmly
As she folds the covers around her

She holds tight to his promised words
‘I’m your personal blanket – always’

She stops – breathes deeply in his familiar scent
Feels his warmth slowly sooth her worries

She pulls him tight around her body
Sits on the edge of the bed

She knows he will return – he has to
She sits – anticipating – waiting – drifting…

She feels his presence long before she hears him
Her skin electric as he enters the room

She wonders if this is part of a waking dream
The words escape her lips, ‘Are you really here?’

His arms surround her as he kisses the words
‘Your personal blanket – always’ – his smile on her lips

His Touch

she feels his thoughts flow
in the rhythm of her heart
his touch still lingers
