Lightning flashes
Paints the night sky
Black canvas splashed
With neon streaks of light

Thunder booms
A rhythm in play
Darkness again…
She reaches for his hand

Lightning flashes
Brilliant painting appears
Tree of bright light grows
Branches shoot across the sky

Thunder booms
A rhythm in play
Darkness again…
She pulls him near

Lightning flashes
The sky comes alive
Clouds illuminate
Ghostly figures aglow

She whispers his name

A breathless pause…

He no longer looks up
His eyes searching for her
Her beauty comes to light
