Child Within
Life as a child
Passion to explore
Burning desire to learn
Everything shiny and new
Eyes bright with glowing flames
Life as an adult
Age quietly blows in
Becomes stronger each day
Searches for cracks along edges
Attempts to extinguish glowing flames
Life along edges
The child plays within
Keeps watch over the flames
Age is no match for the laughter
The child, here to stay – burns bright
